Freshly Minted : Storybook Save the Date

Today I’m sharing my first ever Save the Date design for Minted. For one reason or another I never managed to enter any of the Save the Date challenges in the 5+ years I’ve been submitting designs. I know, I’ve been missing out! Save the Dates are incredibly popular, and are a great way to show off (and justify) all of those beautiful engagement session photos.

Storybook-Save-the-Date-1

Storybook is a full bleed photo card with playful type, banners, and swashes to showcase your wedding date. The backer and liner feature a neutral kraft background with coordinating patterns.

Storybook-Save-the-Date-2

I have three more non-photo Save the Dates launching in the near future, I’ll be back to share them just as soon as they’re live!

Storybook and the rest of my wedding stationery for Minted can be found in the Duncan Park Papers shop.

Custom Personal Stationery

I absolutely love how this custom personal stationery project came out. Amy, my client, (and the sister of my sister’s boyfriend) is a newlywed, and wanted stationery with her new last name. I put together a few options and she settled on this sweet lacy pattern in yellow, with her name in a clean and elegant script.

Patterned backers are a lovely add-on for any notecard. For Amy’s cards we carried over more of the lacy yellow print from the front.

Custom stationery pricing is available by request via email, and I will be carrying a small selection in my online shop once it is up and running later this spring.

Holiday Cards

I know I’m a little behind in posting these, but they turned out so well I couldn’t not share them. Here are some of the custom holiday cards I designed this year, including our own Christmas card.

First up was this sparkly number with deep charcoal background and a faux glitter effect:

McDowellChristmas1 McDowellChristmas2

This next design was for my brother-in-law and his family. They moved earlier this year, so we included their new address on the envelope flap with an arrow to highlight it. (btw, is our nephew the cutest or what?)

HankinsChristmas2HankinsChristmas1

This design features a wreath of pinecones and winter florals in a gray and red palette. I carried the wreath over to the envelope flap as well, I love printed envelopes!

Last but not least, our family card, which I used to test out my printer’s gold foil. I love how the gold foil looks over a full-bleed photo card- and hope to offer a lot of foil in future collections.

I only took a few custom holiday clients this year, but hope to offer a full line of photo cards next year, as well as some other seasonal paper goods. I’ll keep you updated when 2014 holiday work gets underway in May, (yep- May!)

Orders have already started trickling in, so despite my urge to savor every second of this gorgeous fall weather, I’m going to fast forward a bit– it’s time to introduce my 2013 Minted holiday card collection!

Today I’m featuring my three new holiday photo cards: Merry Bright + Geometric, Simple Snapshots, and Snow Fancy.

First up is Merry Bright + Geometric:

This design is a unique take on a multi-photo card, featuring a fun hexagonal print with a touch of kraft paper.

Next is another multi-photo card, Simple Snapshots:

Simple Snapshots is a great card for making use of a lot of pics from a family photo session, or to show off a variety of exciting events from throughout the year.

Finally, one of my favorites, Snow Fancy:

This one features faux gold glitter details, and a single photo layout– don’t worry though, Minted offers a variety of backers you can choose from to show off additional photos. There are also multiple color options, greetings, and die-cut shapes to choose from to truly customize your card!

Vintage Lace Letterpress Suite

Lace-1Wow, how is it already September? I have been hard at work on my wedding invitation collection, and am getting so excited to debut it in the coming months.

Lace-3

The invitation suite I’m introducing today, Vintage Lace, is one that I designed for Kimberly Fitzsimons, Classically Chic Letterpress. I won’t lie, I was absolutely obsessed with the samples when they showed up at my door a few weeks ago– the patterned letterpress backers, the gold foil (!)– these are some luxurious invitations!

Lace-2

Printed in Pool ink and Gold Foil on fluorescent white cotton paper, the design features a delicate lace pattern and classic, elegant type.

Lace-4

Vintage Lace, in addition to my Ringlet suite, is available for purchase through Kimberly Fitzsimons’ shop.

Custom Vow Renewal Invitation

peng-invitations

The project I’m sharing today will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only was it a wonderful client experience from start to finish, it was a huge stepping stone in my little business’ life. This was my first project for a client who wasn’t a friend or acquaintance- although I consider her the former now.

Christina first contacted me the day before Caroline’s due date, saying she had found me through Minted and loved my design style. She and her husband Daniel were planning a vow renewal ceremony and looking for invitations and all sorts of printed pieces for the day of their ceremony. I had no idea when baby girl would make her arrival (a week late as it turned out,) but I just couldn’t bring myself to pass this project up. The timeline proved to be workable, and Christina was oh-so-patient throughout. Together we came up with the perfect invitations and accessories, each piece was truly a collaboration– I couldn’t be happier with how they all turned out!

Let’s get on with the pictures, shall we? All photos are courtesy of the fabulous photographers at Orange Turtle Photography.

The invitation was designed to be reminiscent of a cover page from an old book- a perfect fit for their subtle theme, ‘good stories’. The invites, along with a coordinating custom map were printed on thick 150# bamboo paper. Christina tied a string of twine around them to add a rustic element, and they were mailed off in kraft envelopes.

These next two photos show one of my favorite elements of the event decor: the escort cards strung from a tree branch with beautiful sheer ribbon. So pretty.

peng-escortcards-1peng-escortcards-2

Christina and Daniel wrote individual notes to each of their guests, and placed them along with a handmade favor at each seat.

peng-menu-tablenumber

Tented table numbers, menus, and programs rounded out the printed pieces for their special day.

The icing on this project’s cake was seeing all of the couple’s thoughtful planning  and attention to detail featured in a lovely post on Style Me Pretty. Be sure to read their story and check out even more photos of their ceremony in the gallery. Their video is stunning as well- what a beautiful celebration for a beautiful couple!

Custom project : Baby Shores’ Shower invitation

Baby Shower Invitation Dots Flowers Pink Blue

Today’s post features a very special shower invite that I worked on recently. The baby shower was given in honor of my cousin Jackie, who is expecting her baby girl any day now. Her two sisters and myself hosted the bright and cheerful event at my parents’ house. Jackie and I grew up together and were pretty much inseparable as kids. We are only six months apart in age, and now her baby girl will be six months younger than my Caroline- how cool is that? I only wish we lived closer so they could spend endless hours playing together and getting into trouble like we did!

On to the invitations…

duncanparkpapers-shoresinvite-4

The shower invitations were digitally printed on smooth, 110# white uncoated cover.

The design for the invitations was inspired by the fabrics Jackie had chosen for the nursery, featuring lots of bright cheerful colors and some fun floral patterns. I played up the pinks and blues in particular, along with a touch of coral.

duncanparkpapers-shoresinvite-3

The body of the invitation features a sweet and curly font, with a festive frame of flowers and confetti.

duncanparkpapers-shoresinvite-2

On the back of was a little poem we found on pinterest asking guests to bring a book instead of a card. They received so many great books, and gifts, for that matter- everything is perfectly set to welcome the little Miss into the world!

Freshly minted : marquee

Today I’m introducing the last of my new wedding invitation suites for Minted: Marquee.

Marquee Wedding Invitation, Duncan Park Papers

This design was inspired by vintage theater posters, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. I especially love the RSVP card, and of course the patterns on the envelope liners and the backers. Patterns are my favorite thing to work on with any design- I love figuring the scale, illustration and type of repeat to use to really tie everything together.

Marquee and the rest of my wedding invitations are available for purchase via my Minted storefront.

Be sure to check back in later this week, I have a stack of recent custom projects that I’m excited to share!
