Vintage Lace Letterpress Suite

Lace-1Wow, how is it already September? I have been hard at work on my wedding invitation collection, and am getting so excited to debut it in the coming months.

Lace-3

The invitation suite I’m introducing today, Vintage Lace, is one that I designed for Kimberly Fitzsimons, Classically Chic Letterpress. I won’t lie, I was absolutely obsessed with the samples when they showed up at my door a few weeks ago– the patterned letterpress backers, the gold foil (!)– these are some luxurious invitations!

Lace-2

Printed in Pool ink and Gold Foil on fluorescent white cotton paper, the design features a delicate lace pattern and classic, elegant type.

Vintage Lace, in addition to my Ringlet suite, is available for purchase through Kimberly Fitzsimons’ shop.

Custom Vow Renewal Invitation

peng-invitations

The project I’m sharing today will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only was it a wonderful client experience from start to finish, it was a huge stepping stone in my little business’ life. This was my first project for a client who wasn’t a friend or acquaintance- although I consider her the former now.

Christina first contacted me the day before Caroline’s due date, saying she had found me through Minted and loved my design style. She and her husband Daniel were planning a vow renewal ceremony and looking for invitations and all sorts of printed pieces for the day of their ceremony. I had no idea when baby girl would make her arrival (a week late as it turned out,) but I just couldn’t bring myself to pass this project up. The timeline proved to be workable, and Christina was oh-so-patient throughout. Together we came up with the perfect invitations and accessories, each piece was truly a collaboration– I couldn’t be happier with how they all turned out!

Let’s get on with the pictures, shall we? All photos are courtesy of the fabulous photographers at Orange Turtle Photography.

The invitation was designed to be reminiscent of a cover page from an old book- a perfect fit for their subtle theme, ‘good stories’. The invites, along with a coordinating custom map were printed on thick 150# bamboo paper. Christina tied a string of twine around them to add a rustic element, and they were mailed off in kraft envelopes.

These next two photos show one of my favorite elements of the event decor: the escort cards strung from a tree branch with beautiful sheer ribbon. So pretty.

Christina and Daniel wrote individual notes to each of their guests, and placed them along with a handmade favor at each seat.

Tented table numbers, menus, and programs rounded out the printed pieces for their special day.

The icing on this project’s cake was seeing all of the couple’s thoughtful planning  and attention to detail featured in a lovely post on Style Me Pretty. Be sure to read their story and check out even more photos of their ceremony in the gallery. Their video is stunning as well- what a beautiful celebration for a beautiful couple!

Freshly minted : marquee

Today I’m introducing the last of my new wedding invitation suites for Minted: Marquee.

Marquee Wedding Invitation, Duncan Park Papers

This design was inspired by vintage theater posters, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. I especially love the RSVP card, and of course the patterns on the envelope liners and the backers. Patterns are my favorite thing to work on with any design- I love figuring the scale, illustration and type of repeat to use to really tie everything together.

Marquee and the rest of my wedding invitations are available for purchase via my Minted storefront.

Be sure to check back in later this week, I have a stack of recent custom projects that I’m excited to share!

freshly minted : baby’s breath

Goodmorning, hope you had a lovely 4th yesterday!

Today I’m introducing the second of my most recent designs for Minted’s wedding invitation line: Baby’s Breath.

Baby's Breath Wedding Invitation, Duncan Park Papers,

A little backstory on the inspiration…
In college I worked at a flower shop on campus, and I hated Baby’s Breath- I preferred other fillers, or nothing but greens with my flowers. More recently though, I developed a little crush on it- thanks to images like these:

Baby’s Breath (aka Gypsophila) on its own can be quite lovely, with its cloud-like fluffiness. I wanted this suite to capture that dreamy quality of Baby’s Breath, as well as its subtle nature. To see more beautiful images of Baby’s Breath in action, check out this Pinterest Board that I put together.

The Baby’s Breath invitation suite and the rest of my wedding invitations for Minted are available for purchase in my storefront.

Freshly minted : Country Classic

My most recent wedding invitations for Minted were a lot of fun to work on. I really enjoyed focusing on the details in the coordinating pieces- to me, these thoughtful elements and unique touches are what make invitations memorable. Here is the first of my three new wedding suites, Country Classic:

My favorite parts of this suite are all of the slightly mismatched patterns. In designing the various pieces I wanted the overall look to be sweet and dainty, like the contents of a linen drawer in an old farmhouse.

Country Classic and the rest of my invitation suites can be found in my Minted shop. Check back later this week and early next week for posts on my other two new invitation designs!
